The team

  • Janet is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society with 38 years of aerospace experience in research and technology, future projects, aircraft development programmes and MRO. Her track record encompasses business development programmes, engineering, manufacturing and industrialisation.

    As a senior leader of complex R&T programmes she has been instrumental in pioneering major technology change in recent aviation history, including establishing the wing development programme that led the change from metal to composite, taking the technology from concept through to production and successfully delivering Europe’s first composite wing for the Airbus A400M.

    A recognised expert in project and programme management, Janet has held a number of senior positions in industry and on technology boards and is a recognised expert in R&D both within the UK and in Europe.

Janet Mitchell

  • Navein is a recognised thought leader and a proven strategic leader in the fields of digital engineering, digital manufacturing and automation. He has developed, led and delivered complex engineering programmes for Bombardier, Rolls-Royce, Airbus and Jaguar Land Rover to name a few. More recently, Navein was a part of the leadership team developing the UK’s Industrial Strategy and a significant contributor to UK’s Digital Manufacturing Strategy.

    His depth and breadth of knowledge in data-driven engineering is complemented by applied experience in robotics, metrology systems, automation systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well a track record of leading complex multi-disciplined teams and programmes to deliver both outstanding technical and commercial results.

    Navein currently holds a visiting Fellowship with University of Sheffield in the field of digital manufacturing.

Navein Madhavan

  • Mark is a consultant manufacturing engineer with 20 years of industrial manufacturing experience. Mark graduated from the University of Ulster with a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and has an MSc in Aerospace Manufacturing from Cranfield University.

    Mark has worked for the last 10 years on large aerospace composite wing structures, working for clients such as the National Composite Centre in Bristol, Airbus, Bombardier, General Electric (GE) and Rockwell Collins to name a few. Working on new research and development, aircraft design, product introduction, sustaining manufacturing lines, cost saving projects or work transfer packages has seen Mark working in France, Italy, UAE and UK-wide. Mark has successfully delivered on a number of large industrial projects.

    In more recent years Mark has been technically leading and delivering advance aerostructure programmes of works. This has included the manufacturing of large industrial-scale demonstrators.

Mark Leonard

  • Liam is a software engineer with recent experience within the fintech sector. Liam has been involved in successfully delivering software for companies such as PayPal, TacoBell, Starbucks, Volkswagen, and USBank. He graduated from University Of Ulster with a BSc (First Class Hons) in Computer Science. Liam has a track record working with leading technologies including .NET, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Xamarin.

  • Ciaran has held a number of senior leadership roles, notably with a Fortune 500 fintech company, but also has “in-trench” experience, having worked as a lead engineer for a number of years.

    Ciaran is a Microsoft Certified Software Engineer and technology leader with 15 years of experience in the world of software engineering, architecture and delivery.

    Throughout that time he has been at the forefront of delivering enterprise-ready software solutions to a variety of sectors. He has a keen attention to detail and prides himself on consistently accurate requirements analysis, data analysis, strategic planning and Lean software engineering methodologies.

Ciaran Coyle

  • A data science consultant with rich experience in both AI and manufacturing, Xuanang holds a PhD in nonlinear structural dynamics from the University of Sheffield and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol.

    Starting in engineering and physics, Xuanang transitioned to data science and AI. He has worked in and led many projects about AI in manufacturing with clients including Airbus, Boeing and Rolls-Royce.

    Xuanang has expertise in various machine learning techniques and a wealth of experience in their practical application including anomaly detection, time-series analysis, natural language processing, computer vision, and recommendation engine.
